The Montreal Canadiens have not recently brought back Michel Therrien as an assistant coach.
However, Therrien did serve as the Canadiens’ head coach twice, first from 2000-2003 and again from 2012-2017.
¹ During his second stint, he led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2014 but was ultimately fired in February 2017.
Therrien has also coached the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers in his NHL coaching career. His most recent coaching stint was as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Flyers from 2019 to 2021.
