The transfer portal is now open in college basketball and the Penn State roster has already seen a few departures — while it’s also expected to make several additions. The portal window is open from March 24 to April 22. Here’s who’s leaving the program and entering the portal thus far.

Outgoing
G Jahvin Carter
Signed: 2024 (3-star)
Status: In the portal
Notes: Carter was the first Nittany Lion to enter the portal, and announced it the week prior to when it opened. The now-former Penn State guard was one of four players brought in by Mike Rhoades in the 2024 cycle — the head coach’s first full cycle in charge of the program. Rhoades confirmed Carter’s departure during a press conference. The guard averaged 8.2 minutes per game in 26 games played this season.
F Hudson Ward
Signed: 2024 (3-star)
Status: In the portal
Notes: Ward is the second member of the 2024 class to go in the portal, but unlike Carter did not see much playing time this season. He played in eight games and averaged 2.5 minutes per game in those appearances — mostly appearing in garbage time when the outcome was well in hand. Ward was a late pickup in the 2024 cycle for Rhoades and the Nittany Lions.
F/C Miles Goodman
Signed: 2024 (4-star)
Status: In the portal
Notes: Goodman is the third member of the 2024 class to go in the portal and perhaps the most impactful departure. He signed as one of the highest-rated prospects in program history as a four-star center and the No. 95 player in the 2024 recruiting class in the 247Sports Composite player rankings. He departs the program after struggling with injury issues prior to the season and never receiving a major role in the team’s rotation.
